Students will learn how to use the CIA World Fact Book to learn about the country that they will be representing in the simulation.

What is important information to know in order to understand a country?

Students will be able to identify and explain important information about their country.

Students will be able to research important information about their country, using the CIA World Fact Book.

Use the 7-Step Vocabulary teaching strategy to pre-teach the key vocabulary that students will be researching.
Suggested Agenda:
1. Do now: reminder of key content about what a country is and the UN 2. Explain what students will be doing over the course of the next two days: Researching information about their country using the CIA world Fact Book 3. Teacher instructs students about key terms for the terms that they will be researching. 4. Teacher models finding this information using the CIA World Fact Book.
